About Us

Kate Beaven-Marks is CEO and Director of Studies at the Alterjective Institute and draws on the experience and specialised skills of severalcolleagues according to the topics being taught.

Kate is an energetic and enthusiastic hypnotherapy teacher, with strong theoretical and applied teaching and learning knowledge and experience, providing support, guidance and advice to students, whilst drawing upon the skills and knowledge of colleagues and stakeholders to further enhance teaching and learning and ensure a student-focused approach.

In addition to hypnosis therapy and teaching, Kate has had a successful career as a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner, managing both Occupational Health and Occupational Health and Safety in heavy industry and most recently in Higher Education.

Her work in this field has been supported by her depth of knowledge and experience of the use of positive and directional language patterns for enhanced and effective communication.

Kate’s successful therapy practice is based at Lily House in South Woodford, London E18.  This supports Kate’s strong belief that an effective hypnotherapy teacher best draws on practical experiences.

Kate teaches hypnosis and hypnotherapy at all levels on a one-to-one basis and in groups, in the UK, Europe and Internationally.  She also teaches and tutors at practice groups.  In addition, she supervises and tutors on the MSc.
